Welcome from Harry C. Crowell
For over 60 years I’ve had a rewarding career in the building business, but nothing has affected me as deeply as creating VISTA GARDENS, our beautiful and caring community for those affected by the rigors of Dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and other related dementias.
Opened in 2012, VISTA GARDENS was designed to provide as many services as possible for the dementia patient, in order to help our residents and their families feel comfortable, safe and happy. Our caregiving staff works as a team to provide intelligent and compassionate care for our residents. Through continuous training, we empower our employees with the skills, knowledge, and tools to give the best care possible!
VISTA GARDENS encompasses nearly five acres, which includes plenty of room for great outdoor living. We have a lovely walking trail throughout the tree-covered garden area, a good-sized putting green for dedicated golfers to enjoy and retain their skills, and a garden area for our residents to sit comfortably on a raised planter while growing their favorite fruits, vegetables, and flowers. We’ve built a children’s play area for our residents to have family visits in, as well as trellis-covered seating areas to simply enjoy being outside in our beautiful Southern California weather.
Inside we have several community spaces, where a wide variety of activities happen — arts & crafts, exercise, cooking classes, card games, big-screen TV’s for watching sporting events, and many other fun activities.
Our Chapel offers everyone a quiet place for reflection, Bible study, prayers, serene music and other programs. We know spirituality doesn’t disappear when a person experiences memory loss.
I was thrilled and fortunate to meet Mrs. Nancy Reagan and have a short talk with her about our VISTA GARDENS community. She, along with several Board Members of the Ronald Reagan Foundation, gave their permission to call our library The Ronald Reagan Library in memory of our former President. The Library offers memorabilia about President Reagan, reading selections from our large collection of books, card games, computer stations, TV, and comfortable seating for visiting with new friends or family.
This has been a labor of love and I am so thankful life has allowed me the opportunity to build and share VISTA GARDENS with you. I invite you to come see our excellent care programs in action as well as our beautiful surroundings.
I’m certain you will enjoy visiting us and I look forward to meeting you!.
